She has just revealed that she would love to tour with boyfriend Matt Bellamy’s band Muse.
And if she is going to be following them around the world, it is only natural that the actress would want to get better acquainted with other members of the hugely successful band.
Kate and Matt dined with his band mate Dominic Howard at exclusive London restaurant The Ivy last night.
The dinner obviously went well, as the trio headed round the corner to the Groucho Club in Soho to continue the night, eventually heading back to their hotel around 2.30am.
The 31-year-old, who was married to rocker Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes until 2007, says: ‘When I was with Chris, music was my life – I spent seven years on the road.
‘Would I do it again? I wouldn’t shy away from a tour bus, it’s wonderful.’
The actress, who was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of a groupie in the film Almost Famous, hooked up with Bellamy at the Coachella music festival in California in April.
They had met years earlier in Australia, when they were both in relationships. ‘But this time we met and we weren’t,’ smitten Matt said in an interview with The Times.
Since then the couple have been inseparable, and have been spotted in Paris and Vienna together. Kate also cheered the 32-year-old frontman on from side of stage at Glastonbury in June.
She has just wrapped filming on her new movie Something Borrowed in New York, and has been spending time with her boyfriend of four months. They also dined out alone in Mayfair the night before their Ivy dinner with Howard.
In a revealing interview with Elle magazine, out today, the Bride Wars actress says of the possibility of a second marriage: ‘It’s definitely not something I’m looking for.
‘But the divorce doesn’t put me off. I’ll just see what happens.
‘I think a lot of times people are terrified of love and stop themselves from experiencing it. I don’t ever want to get that jaded.
‘I do believe in love. I believe that when you really open yourself up to love, it’s the most beautiful thing.’
And while she seems happy to take her time, her rocker beau sounds optimistic about their future.
‘It’s a little bit too soon to talk about weddings and stuff,’ he told the Mirror in July. Ask me again in a few months though.
‘We had such a good time,’ he added. ‘We just have fun together and are seeing how it goes.’
While she has entertained the idea of going on the road with Matt, Kate has played down rumours of a permanent move to the musician’s hometown of Devon.
She remains close to her ex-husband for the sake of their six-year-old son Ryder.
In the Elle interview, which appears in the 25th birthday special edition of the magazine, Kate also discusses her friendship with British designer Stella McCartney:
‘I’ve got a lot of friends in the fashion industry and I have so much respect for them – they work so hard. Stella dresses me.
‘What I love about her is that everything she designs is comfortable. She understands where women want to cover themselves, where they want things to be flattering.
‘But when I see her we’re just moms together. We’re all about hanging out with the kids, and she’s such an amazing mother.’
‘When it comes to clothes, my personal style has never changed.
‘I’m very specific about the things I like – a lot of printed dresses, lots of different textures. I can’t get away from flowing things,’ the self-declared hippie adds.
‘I don’t like clothes that constrict me. It’s, like, ‘Would you like to put some clothes on?’
‘No, I wouldn’t!’
