Kate Hudson and fiancé Matthew Bellamy are still musing over what to name their new baby boy, born Saturday night, a source tells PEOPLE.

Luckily, they have a bit more time to decide – although the actress, 32, and rocker, 33, plan to settle in London while Bellamy’s band Muse works on their next album, they’ll remain in Los Angeles while Hudson recovers from the birth.

The Something Borrowed star – who delivered her 7 lbs., 12 oz. son naturally despite having undergone a Cesarean section with Ryder Russell, 7½ – is “doing great,” says the source, adding that the couple is “beyond thrilled” with their new addition.

A few more details about Kate’s new little bundle of joy have popped up online, although we still don’t have news on a name.

‘Glam-ma’ Goldie tweeted about the news earlier today:

Baby Boy Hudson-Bellamy has a couple ounces on Harper Seven Beckham!

Kate Hudson has yet to reveal the name of the son she and fiance Matt Bellamy welcomed in L.A on Saturday night — but the actress did share her happy news with pals in a short email.

Hudson, 32, revealed that her newborn weighs 7 lbs. 12 oz. (Victoria and David Beckham’s daughter Harper Seven, born Sunday morning in L.A., weighed 2 ounces less.)

And the Oscar-nominated star doesn’t want her pals to gift her with fancy strollers or couture jumpers. In lieu of gifts, she asked for “celebration trees” to be planted via Barcham Trees, a Britiish service used by Queen Elizabeth herself. She similarly asked for tree-plantings instead of pricey presents at her June 5 baby shower in Malibu, attended by folks like Courteney Cox, Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie.

As previously reported at Us Weekly, Hudson and Bellamy, 33, plan to spend their first days with their new son at the Muse rocker’s London home while he records a new album.

The little boy’s big brother is Ryder, Hudson’s 7-year-old with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

US Weekly have JUST posted that Kate has given birth! Nothing is confirmed yet, so keep checking back here and we’ll keep track of any official confirmations and further details as they pop up …

EDIT: People.com have received confirmation from Kate’s rep, and the news is true! Kate gave birth to a son last night. Ryder will be extra happy, as I think Kate said he was hoping for a brother.

Turns out Kate Hudson’s hunch that she was having a girl was wrong.

The actress and her fiancé, Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, welcomed a “healthy baby boy” on Saturday in Los Angeles, Hudson’s rep tells PEOPLE.

Hudson, 32, didn’t want to know the sex of her unborn baby, but had a feeling it was a girl.

In January, Hudson announced that she and Bellamy, 33, were expecting a baby and the couple got engaged in April after dating for about a year.

Hudson has a 7½-year-old son, Ryder Russell, with her ex-husband, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson. This is Bellamy’s first child.

The Teen Choice Award nominations were announced on Wednesday, and Something Borrowed received a few nominations. Sadly nothing for Kate, but the movie is up for Best Romantic Comedy, and Ginnifer Goodwin and John Krasinski were singled out for their roles.

The show will take place on Sunday August 7th, and will air live on the FOX channel in the US. Kate will most likely not attend as I expect she is due to give birth to Baby Hudson-Bellamy any day now!

Matt Bellamy loves hanging out with his future mother-in-law Goldie Hawn.

The Muse frontman is expecting a baby with the actress’ daughter Kate Hudson and admits he loves spending time with his fiancee’s mother and stepfather Kurt Russell.

Matt said: “Goldie’s an amazing woman. Incredibly down-to-earth, family first and all that stuff. “As a family, they are unique from what I’ve seen, from people I’ve met out there in Los Angeles. It’s good not to take all of that glamour-y stuff too seriously. So it’s been very nice to be around her.”

Matt first briefly met Kate – who has a seven-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson – in 2007 but they only started dating when they ran into each other at the Coachella music festival last year, where the rocker offered to help the actress find her friends, who she had been separated from.

In an interview with Q magazine, he recalled: “We bumped into each other and we remembered each other and sort of hit it off you know? Pretty instantly, you could say.” Asked if he had invited her back to his tent, he laughed and added: “Oh what did we have there? Little cabins. Caravan type things.”

Kate Hudson was the guest of honor at a private home in Malibu on Sunday afternoon — where Jen Meyer (actor Tobey Maguire’s wife) and 90210 actress Sara Foster hosted a not-so-casual baby shower for the star. (Hudson, 32, is pregnant with her second child, and her first with fiance Matt Bellamy of the band Muse; she an ex Chris Robinson share son Ryder, 7.) The Spanish-style ranch where the bash took place is situated in the same gated community where Camille Grammer, Olivia Newton-John and Mel Gibson live.

Dressed in somewhat formal attire, fellow celebs (and moms) like Courteney Cox, Nicole Richie and Rachel Zoe were among the day’s 60 or so guests — some of them bearing baby baskets and gifts in the gender-neutral color of yellow and green. Leaving everyone guessing about whether it’s a boy or girl, ribbons and signs outside the Spanish-style estate were similarly decked out in pink, blue and yellow ribbons.

Still, even with some dressed-up revelers, a source tells Us Weekly, “it was a family-friendly party with kids of all ages running around. Nicole Richie was there with her kids and they were having a great time playing outside.” Well-wishers hung out in the backyard and noshed on appetizers — and joined in on tons of baby shower games.

“The best one was where people tried to guess what Kate and Matthew should name the baby,” the source says. “It was hilarious and got a lot of laughs out of everyone! It was such a fun party — and people stayed for hours.”

Kate Hudson never tries to “preach” to her friends, preferring to let them make their own choices.

The 32-year-old Hollywood actress loves nothing more than catching up with pals for a good gossip. She is thankful to her friends for all their support and advice over the years, explaining they all discuss their love lives when they get together.

The talented actress is currently expecting a child with her musician fiancé Matt Bellamy, and although she is happy to advise her girlfriends on dating, she tries not to be bossy.

“Girls are always talking about relationships, but not advice per se. I don’t preach. We talk about love and boys and how silly they can be,” she beamed in an interview with OK! magazine.

Kate tries to lead as much of a normal life as possible, and likes to surround herself with people she has known for a long time. Despite having some pals in the movie industry, she doesn’t mix in particularly showbiz circles.

“My solid group of girlfriends I’ve had for a very long time, since high school, or before high school, some of them. Then I’ve also got a whole set of girls that are in the business,” she added.

Yesterday Katie (accompanied by Matthew!) attended a Chanel hosted benefit dinner for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Ocean Initiative in Malibu, looking very pregnant and chic in a long black dress and natural looking make-up. The dinner was held at the home of Ron (and Kelly) Meyer, whose daughter is Kate’s good friend Jennifer Meyer.
