"I always had the most fun doing improv competitions in theater programs when I was younger, and that,s what I love about making comedies: the challenges of timing and physicality and improvisation."

Fun > Fan Of The Month, January 2006

January 2006's Fan of the Month is...

Name: Kayla
Age: 13
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Email: kayla_leafsfan_88@hotmail.com

When did you first become a fan of Kate? : I started liking Kate, the first time I saw here. At first, I just thought she was so beautiful. Then, I started searching her on the internet, and after getting a bunch of information on her, I started watching her movies. I saw How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, and was hooked.
What is it about Kate that you really love/admire? : Most people who like Kate, don't even realize why. To me, she's my ideal friend. She's goofy, fun, and she has the tendancy to put anyone in a good mood, just by smiling it seems! Plus, she's clearly very funny and talented, and of course, beautiful.
Has she affected your life in any way? : Kate has in fact affected my life. First of all, I try my best to copy her style, because I'm really into her whole "hippie" look. Also, I saw her at the One by One Benefit Gala in Toronto, and the way she was talking about our world, just completely opened my eyes to the bigger picture. She gave me different opinions and new perspectives, which I appreciate. She's just so wonderful!
What would you like to see Kate do in the future? : Well, in my opinion, Kate really has done a bit of everything. She's done comedy, horror, drama, more comedy, and there isn't much she hasn't done. I'd really like to see her do a t.v. show, like "Friends," because she reminds me so much of Rachel (Jennifer Aniston)'s character on that show. I think it would be really successful, if Kate created a t.v. show.
What is your favourite Kate film? : "Almost Famous," is really great, but I also have to say that "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" is one of my favourites, because it's the first film I saw her in. "The Skeleton Key," was great too, and the funny thing is, she kind of comforted me throughout the whole movie. It wasn't too scary, because Kate's beautiful face was there the whole time. And, I really liked "Dr.T and the Women." It was funny, and sweet. It was an all-star cast too; a definate "must-see."
Why should you be fan of the month? : Well, I'm a huge fan, but I really don't think I'm any better than the other Katie fans that are applying here, so I'm not even going to try to make myself sound like the best. Yes, I adore her, I think she's talented, and she's beautiful, funny, etc. etc. That's all I have to say about why I should be chosen: because I'm a fan!
