KATE SAYS...
» "It was one of the greatest experiences that I've ever had. It was my first time working overseas; I had only been to Europe or the U.K. area once before by myself. I was ecstatic and so excited because it was such an adventure for me."
» "I'm a part of a great cast in this movie, people who are really talented. I mean, look at them, look at their careers, they're doing awesome and that's amazing to me. When Frances [O'Connor] is hopefully one day nominated for an Oscar, I can say, 'I worked with her, she's great.' It's all awesome."
» "When I was singing this music, it made me frustrated because I wasn't singing what I wanted to be singing. It was like,'Oh, I'm in a studio, I should be singing my own stuff instead of being cheeky Lucy singing some Broadway or Frank Sinatra song,' It was such a blast though, just to be able to do it in a movie was fun."
» [on her audition] "I walked in and had this sort of - what an American would think who's never been to Ireland - that an Irish person sounds like ... which is a Leprechaun. But they don't sound like Leprechauns. And (the director) looked at me and said "Do I sound like that?" And I went, "Does that mean I didn't get the part? I just went in and I said, "I don't know how to do an Irish accent." And he goes, "Just do whatever." So I did it, I did it kind of, you know, with inflections, I went up and down and all over the place."
» [on the accent] "I fooled Irish people. That made me happy. There are people in Ireland who saw the movie who had no idea who I was because they'd never seen me in anything - and they thought I was Irish. Then I did my job. I realized no matter what any American says - 'cause as an American I knew I had no idea what Irish people sounded like - I did it."

REVIEWS
Zap2it.com: "Kate Hudson is proving her acting ability with an impeccable Irish brogue as she plays one of three sisters who's fascinated by this mysterious stranger, played by Stuart Townsend"
BBC: "The writer-director Gerard Stembridge capably balances the potentially unstable narrative, and the performances are fully rounded. Kate Hudson, who filmed this before "Almost Famous", is actually better and sings her torch songs with appropriate feeling."
Haro-Online.com: "Hudson again is ebullient and brimming with joy, completely oblivious to what her siblings are doing."
Rolling Stone: "'About Adam' at least provides a decent vehicle for the comic talents of Oscar golden girl Kate Hudson, who may be reaching the point where she doesn't have to be ID'd as Goldie Hawn's daughter. Sporting a credible Irish lilt, Hudson plays Lucy Owen, a waitress-singer in a Dublin pub."

TRIVIA
{1} Kate sings in this movie! Her character is a bar waitress who also sings the odd song, and can be heard performing 'The Man I Love', 'You Do Something To Me' and 'All The Way'.

WORTH WATCHING FOR...
... a cute, slightly more grown-up romantic comedy with a bit of a twist. This is an entertaining film, and Kate puts in a watchable performance, with an Irish accent!
