KATE SAYS...
» "The wedding comedy? It's not really a wedding comedy. I mean, the movie opens up with a wedding... It's funny. It's very funny, probably one of the funniest scripts I think I've read. It's got twists and turns. It's a little bit of a love triangle; it's good and it's funny and it's one of those scripts that I read and I laughed so hard that I had to literally put the script down at one point. And when you do that, you're like, 'Well, I'm making this movie.' "
» "If we dont get the MTV award for Best Kiss, it's not worth it!" [Kate to Owen]
» “I didn't want to come across like I was the horrible wife. I'm the exact opposite. I've always been the kind of woman who puts football parties together.”
» "I love Duprees. I'm not like Molly at all. I'm totally available for weird, interesting, bizarre characters."
» "I've always known how frustrating it is when people don't understand how important the straight role is, because grounding comedy is the most important dynamic. I thought, 'I can't wait to do this and we'll see if it is going to be challenging for me,' and it was the most challenging thing I've done."
» "When I first saw the movie, not only was I laughing, but I was so impressed by the fact the Russo brothers really made a point to maintain some kind of ground and accessibility to how insane some of the comedy is."
» "It was the first time I played a married woman. It was the first time I had to be somewhat intimate and feel close to somebody like that. And Matt made it very easy, easy comfortable. He's a very different style actor than Owen, and it was just working with two completely different types of people. It was really amazing how it was just all sort of came together and we all enjoyed it.”

REVIEWS
» Ain't It Cool News: "Again, as the movie switches gears back to sweet/romantic from broad comedy its a bit jarring and could use some trim but this time Kate Hudson is so damn cute and likeable that she single handedly carries this aspect of the movie and eventually it actually delivers"
» Chicago Tribune: "This is a largely thankless role for Hudson, whose carefree hippie-chick sparkle has been relentlessly blunted by Michael Le Sieur's script into a caricature of a wife--not quite harridan, but veering dangerously in that direction. Molly is never part of the fun; she's either scolding the boys or featuring prominently in (their) sex-related fantasies."
» Independent Critics: ""You, Me and Dupree" would be a complete and utter disaster were it not for the utterly charming, relaxed and warm performance from Kate Hudson. Hudson, with her girl next door looks, winning smile and natural film presence rescues the film with a performance that brings to mind her wondrous performance in "Almost Famous." It's a powerful testimony to Hudson's acting that she's able to produce such a resonating, sincere performance from an underwritten role in a film that doesn't give her nearly enough chances to shine.
