It’s our beloved Kate’s birthday today, so April and I would like to send her a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY for her special day!! I hope she spends her day with her family and friends and gets spoiled by them. Kate, thank you for sharing your talents and positive attitude with us – you are such an inspiration to all your fans and we can’t wait to see what you will do next!

I was lucky enough to catch this on the Bio channel in Australia Tuesday night – Kate’s episode of ‘Inside The Actors Studio‘ which aired in the US February 12th this year. It was a great and funny interview and Kate was the first daughter of a previous guest to appear on the show which is exciting for Kate and Goldie to claim. Kate Hudson was first choice for ‘The Reluctant…’: Mira Nair

Filmmaker Mira Nair says actress Kate Hudson was her first choice to play Erica in “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”.

“We really fell in love with each other. We hung out for hours, which is something I never do. And then we went through many others and Kate kept sending me love notes,” Mira said in a statement.

Things did not work out between the filmmaker and actress in 2011 as Hudson was pregnant. But luckily, the production of the movie got delayed and by then, the actress was ready to work.

“Then we got delayed and the baby came and she was available. It was meant to be. By then, I had cast Riz (Ahmed),” added Mira, who finally made the film with Hudson.

Set around the post-9/11 period, the film is about a young man chasing corporate success on Wall Street and struggling between his American dream, a hostage crisis and the enduring call of his family’s homeland.

Based on Pakistani author Mohsin Hamid’s novel of the same name, the film, releasing in India May 3, also stars Liev Schrieber, Kiefer Sutherland, Shabana Azmi and Om Puri.

I love this interview and just wanted to share. It was 13 years ago (wow it seems so long ago!) and its hilarious! I love when they are taking about a merged photo of Kate and Chris that Conan made and Kate say’s she’s never having children with her then boyfriend (soon to be husband!) Chris! Ha!

She is talking about Almost Famous and her love for the film. Don’t forget to check out her imitation of a southerner comparing her to Goldie. Love it!

Looks like Kate is lending her face to Nintendo, as this new advert of her promoting their Nintendo 3DS – Brain Age: Concentration Training game has just popped up! Watch the advert below. I’ll be on the lookout for more information on this soon.
